The food is really good, friendly staff, great pub atmosphere. Highly recommended. The Kimchi Bulgogi Poutine is really really tasty, it's a must try.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Moncton. Delicious food. Visited this place a few times and it is constantly good.

Yesterday was the fifth time my boyfriend and I dined here and I can honestly say that this is the only restaurant I've been to that has been consistent with both service and food quality. The food is great and the atmosphere is welcoming. The restaurant decor is so authentic as is their food. The music playlist is always something different and unique. We've tried almost everything on their menu and they are just so good. Kanpai is Moncton's truest gem! No doubt, we will continue returning to this place!

Very good sushi. We go there every month now. Big portion and at a decent price. My 4 year old son loves it too because he can watch the cooks make the rolls in front of us.

The best sushi I've had to date! Stopped in while I was on a visit to a friend's. Fresh, great service, delicious. Better than most places in Halifax.

Everytime I go its like a new experenncee I LOVE KAMPAI always crave it at least onc week and I always bring my new friends there first cuz its the optimal addiction to have♡

Great restautant. A bit pricey but worst paying the price. They have fantastic food and lots of ideas! Open late!

Perched just back from the street down the "Robinson Court" alleyway just outside the back doors of the Capitol theatre and completely worth the walk off of main street. The restaurant has a nicely laid back atmosphere with a full bar if you're looking for a little bit to drink with dinner. The food is very nicely prepared and different from the same 'ol sushi and tempura menus that are the most prevalent. There are a few unique dishes that you may not always find at other places. I stopped in for lunch and had one of their specials which was quick, fresh and plentiful for a lunch time stop. The chicken was juicy and well cooked and the staff was quick top remedy the little hiccup we had with our drink. Definitely encourage a stop in if you're nearby.

What is this place doing in Moncton?? Awesome!Had the BC Tuna Yaki and Salmon Wara. Both were out of this world. This is not a sushi joint. They have a full Japanese pub menu.

One of the best new restaurants in Moncton. Very friendly and informative staff. Delicious starters to share and great meals. Love the Kimchee. At times it can be a lttle too loud. .

I'm not sure if we picked a busy night, but it took nearly 40 minutes for someone to come take our order. Once we got our order, no one ever came back to check on us, I ordered a pop and didn't get it at all, our bill at the end reflected I had gotten the pop, so it had to be fixed up. The food itself was awesome though, that's the sad part. I'm not sure what to think, if it was just understaffed, then I'd go again, we'll see.

The best sushi we've had in Moncton, to date. Beautiful presentation, traditional and specialty selection using the freshest ingredients. Can't wait until they have their full menu up and running. The salmon warayaki is not to be missed.

First visit and I would definitely return, out for Valentines day, wife took sushi/shashimi plate and I took Nagasaki Chanpon, also took to share, Guy tongue (beef) and Adamame. Highly recommend visiting for great food!

If you want variety and a great twist on the Japanese food scene here in Moncton this is definitely the place to come and the prices are very reasonable.

The teriyaki poutine was really good. The rolls were also larger than expected and we ordered way more then we could eat.

Had an amazing experience here! The server was very kind and very helpful in suggesting dishes to try. All of them were excellent. We especially liked the spicy pork and the Kanpai roll (in the picture below). The new setup is also very well done. Great place to go! We will definitely be back.

I've tried Kanpai twice so far, and I was impressed both times. The first time I went was for supper - the food was delicious (the menu is pretty interesting for a place in Moncton). and they have a decent (but not crazy) beer selection. When you order an (alcoholic) drink, you have to yell 'Kanpai!' with the server, which is kind of fun. The second was for lunch - their lunch specials were reasonably priced and tasty, and the service was pretty fast. I'll definitely be visiting them again. I enjoy the atmosphere of the place overall.

Great overall food quality and service. Dishes were well made and well presented. Was not a huge fan of the purple rice (more for it's taste rather than the colour).

Excellent Japanese and Asian cuisine. Not only is the food delicious, but the prices are very fair in comparison to the average, even for alcoholic beverage choices. The ambiance is warm, and comfortable, yet the music is upbeat and fun (80s rock). The menu selection offers many choices including vegetarian options and the dish presentations are visually appealing. There are also options that favor sharing amongst a group. Highly recommended!

Loved this place!! There was awesome live music just outside while we ate on the patio.The sushi was absolutely amazing and the beef kalbi was delicious.Definitely going to be going back. The mini miso soup to start was such a nice touch

Moved to Moncton 2 years ago and this is one of our favourite restaurants! Great good, the atmosphere is really nice and their drink menu is impressive.

This was my first time to Kanpai and I will definitely be back! Service was impeccable, food was fantastic and the Japanese bar aesthetic was perfect. We were seated right away, given menus and served quickly. The food was great, the presentation was appealing and the drinks were fun spins on old favourites. The bathroom had disposable cups and mouth wash to use after as well. The staff also said thank you to every patron as they left. I had a wonderful time and it was a wonderful value.

A nice and cozy place. Staffs are really friendly. Food is really good especially BBQ fish (i forgot its name in the menu) if you are in Moncton and having a mood to eat some Japanese food and some wine or beer, I would really recommend this place ❤️

Super fresh food and nice atmosphere. We went pretty late (9:30 pm) and didn't encounter any missing items. The server was all smiles and super efficient.Would love to be here every week.

I don't understand why this place isn't packed every day. Delicious, reasonably priced food. Go for lunch and get the sashimi salad.

The food is unique and authentic, I have never had Japanese food like this in the maritimes be sure to try the tako yaki and yaki udon noodles and make them spicy for that extra kick, the spicy Salmon rolls were also amazing, we will be back here to try something new
